Sai Baba is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He did many miracles to help the people of Shirdi; after which they began to believe in him. Because of these miracles, this place became considered sacred.

How to reach?
Being the most important pilgrimage destination, Shirdi does not have any connectivity concerns. Though it doesn't have its own airport, still you can travel here by flight and also it is easily reachable by rail and road mediums.
Sainagar Shirdi railway station is around 3 km, Kopergaon Junction is 16 km, and Manmad Junction is 58 km far from the Sai Baba temple and has good connectivity from nearby places like Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Thane, Chandigarh, Kanpur and Nagpur.
If you are planning to visit Shirdi by road, then you will be lost in the greenery near the place. Also, you will see local goers in traditional Maharashtrian attire.

Best time to visit:
Being a popular pilgrimage site, Shirdi is attended by its devotees throughout the year. But the mild winter months are the typical time for the visit. Days of Summer are hot and Monsoon season might bring heavy rains.
1. Ram Navami - It is celebrated in March/April month when religion is not the bar, and Hindus & Muslims come together to celebrate this festival.
2. Guru Purnima - It is celebrated on the full moon day of July month. It is the only festival endorsed by Sai Baba. On this day, devotees gather in Sai Baba temple for prayers and pay their respect to him.
3. Vijayadashami - This is the day when Sai Baba left his mortal body and started his journey towards heaven. It is celebrated in September/October month when devotees seek blessings from Sai Baba.
Food to eat:
Being a holy city, Shirdi mostly offers vegetarian diet. One can get almost every cuisine style in Shirdi; Gujarati, South Indian, Continental, Maharashtrian, etc. Bundi and Laddoo are the sweets you will get on every corner.
You are not allowed take kinds of stuff like Mobile, Camera, Bag and Ladies Purse/Handbag inside Sai Baba Temple and its premises.
