Jatayu Bird Sculpture | Kerala

‘Jatayu’ is that character from the Ramayana who does not need an introduction. We all are watching it on our television screens and some of us are reading about it from childhood.

Kerala to reveal the world’s largest bird sculpture on the same Jatayu, which is set to inaugurate on July 4th. The filmmaker Rajiv Anchal is working on this project.

It has been built in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide, and 65 feet tall. This sculpture is spread over an area of 65 acres and is located on a cliff above 1000 feet from sea level. This structure is rooted on the same rock, where Jatayu strike down when Ravana ruptured his wings.

It has been built for INR 100 crore. Also, the state government has spent INR 10.25 crore on infrastructure development.

The museum and 6D theatre are also arranged inside this sculpture, which can be enjoyed by the public from November. A 10-minute film will be shown in this 6D theatre, which will tell the tale of Jatayu to the Visitors. This film has been made in Hollywood.
